Position Description

An opportunity exists for a Member Service Representative III (MSR III) in our Financial Services department. This position supports the delivery of member service by recognizing and responding to member needs through active listening, accurate product selection and effective explanation of product features and benefits.

The position is responsible for the creation, modification and completion of members' personal and business accounts, cheque orders, MemberCards and Telephone and Internet banking channels as well as deposit products including terms, registered products and mutual funds. The position effectively handles estate accounts, responds to information requests and requirements from CRA and provincial governments. The position also requires providing assistance in other areas of Member Services where required.

Qualifications Required

To meet the requirements of the position, you will be completely versant with the scope of products and services offered by the Credit Union and have expert knowledge of the features and benefits of the Credit Union’s deposit products and services. You will have a general working knowledge of all products offered by the Credit Union in order to effectively cross-refer members to other departments. You will possess strong knowledge of Central 1, Ladysmith & District Credit Union, and regulatory policies and procedures as they relate to all member service activities. You thrive in providing exceptional service to our members at every opportunity.

The ideal candidate will have at least 36 months of financial services experience, preferably in the Credit Union System. They will have also successfully completed Credit Union Products and Services (CUIC 185), Fundamentals of Personal Financial Planning (CUIC 240), and be an Accredited Member Service Representative through the Credit Union Institute of Canada. They will also have 2 year business diploma or related experience and an intermediate level of Microsoft Office computer software.
